Quilt Exhibition
Every two years the group holds an Exhibition. The Exhibition raffle is a major fund raiser for the group and one of the main features of the exhibition. There is also a trading table where members can make items of patchwork to sell, with 10% commission being donated to charity. Another feature of our bi-annual Exhibition is a challenge where members wishing to participate are set a number of rules and requirements they need to follow to construct a patchwork item. The challenge is judged and prizes awarded. Members of the public are also invited to vote for their favourite quilt in the Exhibition, with the maker of the quilt with the most votes winning the viewer’s choice award.
Quilt frames used for the quilt exhibition are the property of Sunraysia Patchwork Friends Inc. These frames are only to be used at club functions.

Quilt Discovery Tour
In 2007 we hosted our first Quilt discovery Tour. Four members opened their homes to display quilts and other items made by members of the group. Due to its success, a second Quilt Encounter was held in 2009.

Donations
During the year, the group donates quilts to various organisations such as Vision Australia, the Specialist School and Chaffey Aged Care. The members of the group also make neo-natal quilts to donate to the hospitals for premature babies. Sunraysia Patchwork Friends also make an annual cash donation to a charity, decided upon by the members at the A.G.M. Recipients of this donation have included Sunraysia Cancer Resources, Chances for Children,  Sunassist and the Sunraysia Juvenile Diabetes Group.

Tutorials
Each month there is an evening Tutorial held on the 2nd Tuesday of the month for members wishing to learn a new or different technique. It is entirely optional if you wish to attend. The tutors are usually one of our members who are willing to teach the group how to make an item or demonstrate a specific technique.
Reimbursement is available to the tutors for expenses relating to the tutorial. Some tutorials may incur a small charge to cover the cost of materials and other expenses. Examples of tutorials conducted by our tutors include Christmas decorations, Sashiko quilting, needle-turn applique, quilt as you go techniques, and various bags and pincushions.

Out of Town Tutors/Workshops
Once or twice a year we invite professional tutors to visit Mildura and teach our members a new technique. This is usually a weekend event. The tutors who have visited previously include Kate Hahn, Judy Turner, Krystine Harris, Chris Kardash, Pam Jones, Jan Tregoweth, Leesa Siegele, Susan Murphy, Pam Holland, Lee Cleland, Michelle Hill, Vera Lloyd and Annette Brown.

Bookings for Tutorial, Workshops and Lake Cullulleraine are essential to allow proper planning and budgeting of the activity. Equipment and supplies may need to be purchased by the group beforehand, and visiting tutors usually require SPF to pay a substantial deposit beforehand, and to book accommodation on their behalf.
If your name is on the list to attend a tutorial/workshop and you are no longer able to attend, please contact a committee member and let them know. Please try to be as prompt as possible to the tutorial so that you don’t miss out on vital information.
When booking a workshop or Lake Cullulleraine, please complete a class application form. This is usually included in the current newsletter. Applications must be accompanied by a non-refundable deposit. Regrettably, refunds of class payments, excluding exceptional circumstances, cannot be made. Should you be unable to participate after payment has been made, you may arrange for someone else to take your place. This is done solely between yourself and the other person, but we do require that you contact the class organizer with these changes.

Fat Quarter Birthday Club
Each year, a list is passed around at our meeting. You are welcome to put your name down to become a part of the Fat Quarter Birthday Club. You will need to give your name, birthday month and colour selection to the Birthday Club Co-ordinator. A list of participants will be circulated in the  newsletter. In the appropriate month, a fat quarter of good quality should be given to each person in your group in a card or wrapping.

A Kris Kringle Challenge is organized for Christmas each year. It is not compulsory to participate but it can be very rewarding. We have a different project each year with the pattern being supplied . The finished article is completed and exchanged at the Christmas Dinner.

Equipment
There are a number of items the club has such as cutting mats, rotary cutters, irons, rulers and a light box. These are only for use at Sit ‘n’ Sews, workshops or tutorials. They are NOT to be loaned out.
